Memphis Theatre Show, Seeing Gok Wan + Wimbledon | LIFE

Hello!

"hear her voice and you think you're listening to an angel"

If you follow me on Twitter (shameless plug ;) ), you'd have seen the ticket to Memphis picture I posted. Memphis is theatre show on at the moment at the west-end Shaftesbury Theatre. It was very hot on the day I went, and boy was I glad that the theatre had air conditioning! Oh, and we came across Gok Wan and past an official Wimbledon car, but more on that later.

Summer 2015 Inspiration Board | LIFE

Hello!

Okay, I'm going to be completely honest with you and say this inspiration board was a bit of a nightmare to create. I think it's to do with the fact that my brain has been so wired for exams in the last few weeks that it's kind of gone "Creativity? What the heck is that?". Although it may not have the same effect as the Spring Inspiration Board that was previously published (pretty summer-y too, if ya ask me! ;) ), it's something, and I hope you like it!

Summer screams all things pretty. I'm talking pretty flowers, pretty dresses and pretty fruit! There are a million and one DIY's for summer on Pinterest and a range of pastel colours for your nails just waiting to be painted on. It's a time to wind down, enjoy the sun and also at the back of your mind be wondering how the time of 2015 has flown by so fast that we're already past half way point?

Yesterday, being the official first day of summer and the longest day of the year, it may just have finally hit us that 2015 will soon be over. So make the most of it! :)

What are your favourite things about summer?

In The Cinema This Summer | MOVIES

Hello!

source, source, source
"reminds me a little of a female version of 22 Jumpstreet!"
It's prior to the summer when we're saying things like 'Yes, I will win the Nobel Prize this summer, I'll climb Mount Everest and I'll meet the President of the United States... all in one day'. Okay, basically, we have a million and one things we want to do, but when we get to it, we're like.. 'Right, what do I do now?'. Movies are generally resorted to, because let's face it, a trip to the cinema is much more likely to happen than climbing Mt. Everest! So, without further ado, here are a few ideas as to what to watch this summer.

The Age of Adaline

Blake Lively is back! I didn't think much of the movie, but after seeing a few posters around the tubes and on the side of London buses, I thought I'd give it another look. It looks like a nice concept, although in all honesty, it wouldn't be number 1 in the 'things I want to watch' list. But that's just me, maybe it'll tickle your fancy?

Pitch Perfect 2

I remember watching the first one, on a snowy day when everything in London got cancelled due to bad weather! It was lovely, and better than I had expected. That being said, I'm looking forward to this one. After watching the trailer, it reminds me a little of a female version of 22 Jumpstreet! What do you think?

Mr Holmes

So the BBC absolutely nailed the Sherlock series. Honestly, anyone that has ever seen an episode of Sherlock is always raving about it, so if you haven't yet - DO. I remember watching the Sherlock Holmes movie, before the whole BBC show, in the cinema and it was not to my liking. Okay, basically it was bore-ring! This, however, it's a different concept. Sherlock years older seeing people gasp at the sight of 221B Baker Street yet them not recognising the man himself steps behind them. His last case? Well, it better be a good one, and I do hope the movie is not a let down - especially after the brilliant Cumberbatch played the role so greatly.

Do you have your eye on any movie in particular? Do let us know! :)

Top 3 Theatre Shows in London ft. EventBrite | LIFE

Hello!

source, source, source
"The one that makes you go 'Kaaaawapungaaaaaa....'  because you don't know the actual lyrics but it gets you singing along anyway"

Living in a city, you have things going on left, right and centre. There's always something to do, and sometimes you just don't know where to start!

With summer just around the corner (for some it's already started - you lucky people!) ideas to add to the 'bucket list' is usually a fun place to start, and what more than a few good theatre shows to get you going.

I've been a fan of theatre shows for, like, ever - but don't tend to go as often as I'd like. I've seen Oliver, the Twists and the Lion King, to name a few, and they were super fun! So, if you're in the London area this summer, or wherever you are, go and watch a theatre show and let me know what you think!

Here are the Top 3 I'd recommend/am eager to see myself:

1. Wicked

The very well known show thats been running for years. It seems great, and as I'm now a fan of 'Once Upon a Time', I can see myself loving the show. Although, a few of my friends who've seen it say it wasn't as good as it's lived up to be. However, it has been a great success and has been running for such a long time - so I guess I'll just have to see for myself!

2. Matilda

Do you remember the movie? I loved that movie. I have been a huge fan of reading books since a very young age, so of course I'd love little Matilda. This one is a bit newer than Wicked, yet it's received the 5* rating and I really want to see how they've transformed the movie into a play!

3. The Lion King

You know that iconic song from The Lion King? The one that makes you want to belt out and sing along? The one that makes you go 'Kaaaawapungaaaaaa....'  because you don't know the actual lyrics but it gets you singing along anyway - yep, imagine that in the theatre! Having seen this show, I cannot recommend it enough. It is absolutely amazing! Prepare to have your breath taken away, and fall in love with Simba all over again (secretly wishing you could own a pet lion - who doesn't?!).

So there are a few shows going on in London. Actually, Eventbrite are currently running something called the 'Hometown Hunt' project, where you can find out about the events going on in your local area (a lot of them are free). The events run from music festivals to classes to arts. It's so easy and a fun way to fill your spare time this summer! Here is the link to Eventbrite, the link to their selling tickets page and a link for you to manage your own event.

I hope you get a few ideas of what to do, or what shows to watch. What are your favourite pass times, may it be watching a movie, going to festivals or baking - leave a comment. :)

*This post is NOT sponsored by Eventbrite, I just thought I'd give them a shoutout.

TGIF: Movie's in the Cinema

Hello!

"a movie this weekend sounds good."
Another Friday and I'm sitting here watching last weeks re-runs of X Factor, thinking a movie this weekend sounds good. Looking at the movie listings, these are the three caught my eye:

"It's action packed and science-y!"

Although it's been out for a while, the storyline of this is quite cool! It's about someone who unlocks their brain potential to 100%, other than the average 10% that everyone else uses. It's action packed and science-y! Trailer link HERE.

"We've seen the likes of golf movies: Happy Gilmore... Now it's Cricket's turn!"

The sports movie of the year. We've seen the likes of golf movies: Happy Gilmore, american football: The Blind Side and even basketball movies: High School Musical. Now it's Baseball's turn!
Trailer link HERE.

"Oprah Winfrey helped create this movie - it must be good!"

This is the one the foodie in you may be the most excited for! Mentioned in this post, Oprah Winfrey helped create this movie - it must be good! Trailer link HERE.

Out of the three - which would you go to watch?

Relaxing or Sick Day Must-Haves (ft. Firmoo)

Hello!

Cough. Sneeze. Tired.
It's that time of year. We're either sick with the flu, or just have the January blues where we wish it could be summer (unless you live in Australia or something, then you must be having a nice time!)….

This calls for a must-haves list for the days we want to stay in bed. Let me tell you, it's okay to not be doing things every second of the day. It's okay to have a less productive day, sometimes. Now - lets relax!

1. Snuggle

Snuggle up with your cosiest blanket on your sofa/couch. If you feel REALLY lazy, then just stay in bed - all is good! I love my pink rose blanket. I got it last year and it has come so much in handy during the cold months. I actually like it when my room is cold and I'm snuggled up in this!

2. Make Some Hot Cocoa
What is the cold without hot cocoa? Or a mug of coffee or tea. I love me some Chai Tea Latte, too! This makes you feel instantly better as the warmth makes your body warmer and you're left with a lovely taste in your mouth!

3. Ease off the Contacts!
I know when you go out and have glasses, you might prefer your contact lenses - but on relaxing days it may be time to give your eyes a rest and pull out the glasses. I got mine from Firmoo who have a range of designs you can choose from. These have a lovely tortoise design on the side of the frame. I love how fashionable these look, how intelligent you look (and feel) and how comfortably they fit! Also, I love that they aren't the typical rectangle as I find everyone and their mother has them! This is slightly different yet still has that chic touch. You can customise the glasses to be tinted, polarised and of course have the lens matched to your prescription - the website is super easy to use and delivery is great. You also get 2 cases and an eye-glass cloth. I really do recommend them. Oh, and if that wasn't enough, you can even try on the glasses online with a cool picture thing where you virtually have them on to see which glasses design fits you! AND you get your first pair free! Click here to see.

4. Watch some Flicks

We all know that watching our favourite shows, movies or even YouTube stars can brighten up our day and make you feel better! I love to have a catch up Pretty Little Liars day or something! It's a lot of fun and a great way to wind down! If you're feeling like having more of a movie night then that's good too - the other day I watched 'Now You See Me' and it's a really good movie!

5. Take a Bath

I love taking baths as they're so relaxing. Also, using luxurious products make your skin feel lovely and  you look and feel great! Maybe take in a book with you to pass the time while you soak!

6. Light a Candle
I could NOT miss this one out! Ahh even thinking about Candles makes me feel happy!

That's it for my must-haves for a relaxing day! If you're ill right now, I hope you get well soon - and if you just need a relaxing day.. just relax ;)
What are your Relaxing/Sick day must-haves, leave a comment?!

New Year: Jar of Goals

Hello!

It's New Year's Day so I thought I'd come to you with a FRESH new idea, for a FRESH new year! Oh my goodness, that rhymes! In my last post I made a rhyme too! I'm on a roll!

Anyway, so for this year of 2014 - which truly did creep up on us - I wanted to have something that would remind me of how I felt at this very moment in one years time! You may or may not remember how you wanted the year of 2013 to turn out,  I don't remember what I was feeling and I didn't really set any goals.

This time I want something to open in one years time to see how far I've come - how much I've changed over time. This idea will allow you to do just this!

You will need:
- A jar (or bottle or container of some sort)
- Paper
- Pen
- The skills to write, fold papers, and open jars!

It's a pretty simple idea, really. Just write your goals/new years resolutions and put them in a jar!

Cut up the paper into the number of pieces you need depending on how many goals you have - I did 12
Write them down - maybe draw an image!
Fold them into whatever you like - I did triangles!
Put in the jar
For you, this might seem pointless as you can't see the resolutions you've made, but in this case that's not the point. It's just to open in a years time to see if you've overcome/reached the goals and see how much you've progressed.

You may have heard of the 'Memory Jar' where you write something good of the day and put it in a jar to open and read on New Years Eve - I personally can't trust myself to remember to do this, so I feel this is a better idea! However, if you're more committed and have a better memory than I, then feel free to do that. Instead of writing the notes now, do them throughout the year of memories instead of goals!

Well, this is a little extra than just a post saying 'Happy New Year', so I hope you have an idea you can do!
Anyway, wishing you a Happy New Year!!
