Starbucks Gingerbread Latte - Christmas Blend: The Verdict

Hello!

"'Christmas Blend' version of the Gingerbread Latte, would I say it was worth it?"

It's that time of year when the red cups come to town. No, I do not mean the red cups you see used at every party in American TV shows, but the oh-so-famous festive Starbucks Coffee cups. With the new festive season comes 4 new flavours and here's where I tell you about one of them...

"I'll give you my top pick of the 4... and I'm telling you now, it's not going to be number 1"

Not really been one that needs a daily Starbucks fix, but scoring myself a new job in London meant there's a Starbucks every 10 steps (literally). Just outside work, there's a Starbucks, the first thing that caught my eye when I went out for a breath of fresh air during lunch break. How could I not, hey? Spent an extra 20p to get the 'Christmas Blend' A.K.A. medium roast version of the Gingerbread Latte, would I say it was worth it? Oh yeah. The coffee was lovely, not too strong but just strong enough to keep you fighting the cold air around you. The gingerbread taste itself? Very ginger-bready. I liked it but would rather go for the toffee nut latte again - which was another one I tried the previous day (didn't I say I don't need a daily Starbucks fix?). Although I didn't get a nice enough photo of that one, I'll write a blog post the next time I get it.

"coffee was lovely, not too strong but just strong enough to keep you fighting the cold air around you."

The gingerbread latte, full on with the whipped cream and all, did do itself justice and is not a bad drink at all. However, by the end of the festive season, I'll give you my top pick of the 4 they've released and I'm telling you now, it's not going to be number 1.

Overall, a lovely drink to have in hand if you're a huge fan of gingerbread (duh!) , but of all the festive flavours to choose from, I'd say don't get this one. However contradictory this may sound, just trust me on this!

Have you tried the festive flavours yet? What's your festive drink of choice?

SS14 Wearable Fashion Trends - From the Catwalk to your Wardrobe.

Hello!

The sun is ACTUALLY popping out from behind the clouds, and you know what that means? The SS14 Trends can go into action. Well, if you have been looking at the trends seen on the catwalk, not many are actually wearable for day-to-day, think Kendall Jenner and her nip-through top - not gonna happen.

Well, we still want to be wearing the trends seen on the runways and girls, when there's a will there's a way!

1. The trend that pops by every year!

I love pastels, from nails to jumpers to handbags! I love the mix and match of pastel colours too, in this case the mint jumper with the pastel pink pants. To not bring the look to overload, I toned down the outfit with nude pumps - but to bring up the bling, the coral (pastel) and gold necklace felt like the perfect touch. This outfit is getting me excited for the summer!!

2. THE colour of the Season

Yellow. The colour of sunshine, the colour of happiness. This bright colour is such a lovely one to put on during the warmer months. Being spotted as one of the hottest colours from OPI's new Summer Collection, this one is going to be huge. The black/yellow floral dress has a gorgeous neckline. I feel yellow works really well with gold jewellery and as this dress is almost sleeveless, I felt the arms would feel bare without a bracelet. The shoes kept simply but effective the black heels and obviously another HUGE pop of colour with the bag - which I love!

3. Keep it Pure

White on White worked for winter and is set for the summer months too. I love the slight gold accent in this outfit on the belt. It would work well with the shorts, blazer and pure white top! The white shoes would make the outfit look like an overall dream.

4. TWO trends in One
Links to Items: 1, 2, 3, 4
The Wide-Leg Pants trends is a total new one. One which I am reluctant to try. However, it would work well with the geometric print top. Being it a navy colour with white detailing, I feel it works well with the white pants. To add a little more dimension to the outfit, the boxed black shoulder/hand bag seems like a perfect fit. To not draw attention away from the pants and geometric pattern, I paired the outfit with black flats.

I hope you enjoyed the 'from the catwalk to your wardrobe' edition of the Spring/Summer Fashions Trends and let me know what you think of the layout!

What's your favourite summer trend?

Manicure Monday - Matte GunMetal

Hello!

I love the look of freshly painted nails - it's a nice aspect to change as it is easy to do so and can make a difference! I swear I pick the colours of the polish depending on my mood!

Being a fan of the Matte Nail Polish trend, I again picked up the matte topcoat to paint my nails! I used Barry M 'Dusky Mauve'. I am in love with this polish. It is a Grey with Purple Shimmer.

Adding the Rimmel Matte Top Coat meant that the polish lost it's purple shimmer and is left with a gunmetal-y grey colour.

I've got to say I really like the way the matte topcoat turned out on this polish. It completely changed the look of it can I can't stop touching my nails. Others have mentioned how good it looks and feels (… yes people actually felt my nails!)...

Using the Matte Topcoat in the LAST Mani Monday was not as effective as it turned out this time. I am really pleased with it. Unfortunately last time my nails chipped quickly - having not enough experience with the Matte Topcoat, I'm not sure if it was that or another reason why the polish chipped so quickly, I'll keep you updated!

Are you in for the Matte Nails trend?
