The BEST Pant Trend this Summer | FASHION

Hello!

"I can wear the comfiest form of pants out in public and still look pretty pulled together"

As mentioned a million and one times on this blog, Summer is coming. Summer is not what it is without some floral print, am I right? Basically my summer wardrobe has a lot of florals. Though, it had lots of floral tops and floral dresses, yet no floral... pants.
Before we go on, let's clarify: I mean pants standing for bottoms/trousers not underwear :)
LEFT TO RIGHT: TopShop, Asda by George

I love the way these look. They're almost chinos but not quite in that category. The pants pictured on the right are from TopShop who name them 'cigarette' trousers. Well, I don't really want to call them that but you get the point - they're different. You can choose to dress them up with some heels or dress them down with a casual/plain top and some flats (possibly toms).

LEFT TO RIGHT: Forever21TopShop

As well as these beauties in the trouser, more structured, form, you can totally opt for the, well, less-structured form: the joggers! Who doesn't like joggers?! If you tell me I can wear the comfiest form of pants out in public and still look pretty pulled together - I'm sold. Let me tell you, I might just have about a million pairs by the end of the summer and I won't judge you if you do too! ;)

So, what do you think of the 'trend'?

Top 6 Spring/Summer Dresses - Under $10 | FASHION

Hello!

"great for the various events throughout the season"
Dresses were made for Spring and Summer (well, I guess you could pull it off during the autumn and winter too, but ideally, it's Spring and Summer) and who would believe you could get some super pretty ones for less than $10! Whether you're a student watching your budget, or just don't want to splurge on the dress where the trend may not last until next summer - heck, if you just simply like the dresses, regardless of the price tag, read on.

Isn't it stunning?! I love stripes and the yellow border just makes this dress that extra special. You know they say yellow is the happiest colour? Well, doesn't this dress make you happy!
Buy here.

I saw this dress and instantly thought of laying by the pool or beach, chilling under the sun. Having said that, the piece could also be dressed up with some heels and a cute clutch. Either way, a versatile piece that could be a gem in any collection.
Buy here.

So it looks like two different pieces, but really it's just one. The thing that caught my eye with this one, is that it's unique. Oh, and it's super cute!
Buy here.

Totally a casual dress - my favourites! This one that's probably harder to dress up - but perfect for a picnic-in-the-park kind of day.
Buy here.

Did I mention I have a thing for stripes?
Buy here.

Denim is practically always a trend for Spring/Summer, and a denim dress is totally a nice way to incorporate it. Another one for the picnic-in-the-park kind of day!
Buy here.

So 6 dresses under $10, and all great for the various events throughout the season.
Tell me, what do you think of stripes? Fan or not-so-much?

PS. I believe they ship worldwide ;)

Current Music Faves ft. Sam Smith, Taylor Swift + Daniel Duke | MUSIC

Hello!

"I was out and about with music in my ears, I noticed the song was super catchy and was thinking to myself: Who is the artist?"

We all need a refresh of the playlist every now and again, and when One Directions 'FOUR' get's a bit boring, it's time to hit the charts and see what's new.

Having said that, the charts at the moment are not-so-good. Yes, FourFiveSeconds is a good song, but of the new ones in the top 40, I was probably a fan of all about 3 of them. The songs mentioned here are actually in the charts, expect one of them. That one isn't even available in stores...

1. Sam Smith - Lay Me Down
This is in the title picture for a reason. The song is amazing. The thing about Sam Smith and his singing, is that you can almost feel the emotion as he opens that mouth of his! Through the headphones you are transformed into another world - and one which I would happily live in.

The minute I heard the song, I played it on repeat 3 times. If you know me, you know I rarely watch a movie twice, read the same book again or play a song on repeat (especially when it's the first time I've heard it). This? This was an exception. Other than the song 'Say Something' by Christina Aguilera and A Great Big World, which I played around 8 times in a row, this doesn't really happen to often. So, long story short: if you haven't heard this song yet, run over and put it on before continuing to read the rest of this post!

2. Taylor Swift - Style
I'm a big fan of T-Swift. She sings the kind of music I like, whether it be Love Story or Shake it Off - I'm a fan. Style? Style's a little bit different. I was out and about with music in my ears, I noticed the song was super catchy and was thinking to myself: Who is the artist? They're AMAZING! Next thing I know, it's good old Tay Tay. It's something quite different to what I'm used to with her, but it's a great song, nonetheless!

3. Hozier - Take Me to Church
When I first heard this song on the automated YouTube playlist thing (which, by the way, I think it's quite handy) I was totally loving it. I thought the emotion I felt through it was good, and it's like sort of rock/grunge vibe I do actually like. Being a pretty low key, not in-your-face song, it was right up my street! However, it was not one I instantly downloaded. Hearing it again on The Voice UK (covered by Clarke), I knew I had to have it in my playlist, and off I trot to download it.

It's such a great song, and I hope to be loving more songs by the same artist.

4. Daniel Duke - Gonna Be/500 Miles
Finally, the unexpected, not-in-the-charts song you'd probably never expect to see in a current favourite music post. The song that didn't get enough credit, in my opinion, and the artist that should have gotten through to the lives on The Voice UK. That's right, the artist was a contestant on The Voice UK this year, and he was on Sir Tom Jones team.

Tom didn't pick him from the knockouts, and I'm thoroughly disappointed. Tom had a great team - and there were about 4 of the 8 that I thought had great potential, and of the 8, he chose 3 that I think didn't do his team justice. This is all my opinion, but I think I'm just a bit annoyed by the fact than Daniel was let to go home.

Gonna Be/500 Miles was the song he sang on his first audition, and it was incredible! He has such a unique voice that he uses to recreate hit songs in a different way. Here's the YouTube link to his other performance of Shake it Off. The version he crafted was different to the original, but it still sounded awesome!

Although this post was not meant to be a huge ramble on about The Voice, it has been a show I've been loving recently. The songs they choose are the wonderful, and the amount of talent the contestants have is incredible to see.
All in all, these are the Top 4 songs I recommend you listen to, at least once, and possibly add to your playlist.

Tell me, what did you think of Daniel's performance? Like his spin on things, or do you think it's not for you?

The Labels 2014 Fashion Show - from the FRONT ROW

Hello!

"reserved seats in the front row for BerryBloomXO (with) HUGO BOSS"
Weekends are always times to look forward to, but last weekend was one packed full of fun events. On Saturday I got to spend the night in a fancy building London, on the highest floor, attending a fashion show. You can assume how happy I was surrounded by models left, right and centre (male ones in particular = eye candy!).

"definitely a night to remember"
Having never attended an event like this before, I had no idea what to expect - but in no way did I expect it to be as fancy as it was. When entering there were these BIG gold rimmed glass revolving doors, you can imagine what it's like for a short person like me (a mere 5'2)... pretty intimidating
After ticking our names off the guest list, we went on an elevator that goes to only floors 20-32, which was surprisingly quick - don't ask me what happened to the other 20 floors.

When entering we were given VIP wristbands, little did I know there'd be reserved seats in the front row for BerryBloomXO - did I mention HUGO BOSS were in the SAME ROW as us?!

"I did question the practicality of the dress where hands stay in a pouch"
About an hour after entering and being served refreshments and champagne, the show had started. The first collection made by a fashion student whom had used the same print for every dress but had different cuttings and styles. All looks had white heels on and the cuts and styles were lovely - though I did question the practicality of the dress where hands stay in a pouch (look at image 3 in the collage above) - all in the name of fashion?

"featured in Vogue, Hello! and other magazines"
Ingrid Bratt, featured in Vogue, Hello! and other magazines, presented this collection. It was beautiful with various designs and plaits that kept things interesting. You could definitely spot the influence by her spanish heritage (see image 4 above).

Harry Potter music played in the background as the models strut their stuff in Preline Martha. Although gorgeous, some pieces were not finished, which was a bit of a let down. Fav = the red/gold dress pictured 6th in the collage.

"think-Oliver-Twist style"
The only Menswear collection of the show was one by Katrina Wagster. It was very 'old-militay', think-Oliver-Twist style. Sort of a metal, cold and hard look about the clothing.

"if you're looking for a wedding reception gown - this lady has a great collection"

My favourite of them all, icon Sylvia Fumudoh created the most glamorous looks on the runway. With grey tones to metallics to stunning gowns with precious stones, the looks were both elegant and classy. My favourite was a navy blue dress with black stone detailing - unfortunately couldn't grab a picture of  it. All the items were complete and the entire collection worked well together. So, if you're looking for a wedding reception gown - this lady has a great collection.

After seeing wonderful collections, trying macarons for the first time and sitting on the same row as Hugo Boss, it was definitely a night to remember. Thank you to The Labels team for giving me the opportunity to come

So, tell me, if you were to create a collection, what would it be inspired by?

Yes/No: Harem Pants Trend

Hello!

"I guess they're just a version of jogging bottoms"

Harem Pants - slightly reminiscent of the pants worn in the MC Hammer, Can't Touch This music video - link here - yet seeming to be the trend of Summer 2014. The question is: Yes or No?

1 // 2 // 3

"reminiscent of the pants worn in the MC Hammer, Can't Touch This music video"

Harem pants can be dressed up or down, but are mostly for the relaxing days, weekends and days when you chill. They are loose and baggy with no real structure to them, I guess they're just a version of jogging bottoms made from a softer, lighter material. They're available in a range of different colours and patterns yet the tribal theme seems to be quite common.

1 // 2 // 3

"recreate many different styles, whether it be 'gangster', 'hipster' or even 'girly'"

Overall, the harem pant's can be paired with a range of different outfits to recreate many different styles, whether it be 'gangster', 'hipster' or even 'girly'.

I am not a HUGE fan of the style, but wouldn't mind wearing it at home as they're super comfy - don't expect to see me in the streets wearing them anytime soon, I'd rather go with the cropped pants

Back to the Question: Yes or No for the MC Hammer style Harem Pants?

Yes/No: Cropped Pants... for casual wear?

Hello!

The last time you may have come across the Yes/No series is for the Short Hair Trend. Having not even thought about it being a series, I figured 'why not?' as you seemed to love it! If you haven't read it yet, let me know whether it's Yes or No for you on that post!

"classy yet fashionable"

Well, this time it's the cropped pants. Having gone shopping last week, it was on the 'Must Buy' list. To my amusement, I found them (which is good) and they were in the office wear section. Maybe its the fact that I love sophisticated style but I would easily wear this as casual attire!

source: 1 // 2 // 3 // 4
"Definitely a versatile product and a staple in ones wardrobe"
I love the way it looks: classy yet fashionable and easy to pair with many outfits. Definitely a versatile product and a staple in ones wardrobe, I'd say!

" if you want a bargain, it's for £9 in Primark! "

You can buy a pair from ASOS for £20 online, yet if you want a bargain, it's for £9 in Primark!

So tell me, Yes or No from You on Cropped Pants?

SS14 Wearable Fashion Trends - From the Catwalk to your Wardrobe.

Hello!

The sun is ACTUALLY popping out from behind the clouds, and you know what that means? The SS14 Trends can go into action. Well, if you have been looking at the trends seen on the catwalk, not many are actually wearable for day-to-day, think Kendall Jenner and her nip-through top - not gonna happen.

Well, we still want to be wearing the trends seen on the runways and girls, when there's a will there's a way!

1. The trend that pops by every year!
Links to Items: 1, 2, 3, 4
I love pastels, from nails to jumpers to handbags! I love the mix and match of pastel colours too, in this case the mint jumper with the pastel pink pants. To not bring the look to overload, I toned down the outfit with nude pumps - but to bring up the bling, the coral (pastel) and gold necklace felt like the perfect touch. This outfit is getting me excited for the summer!!

2. THE colour of the Season
Links to Items: 1, 2, 3, 4
Yellow. The colour of sunshine, the colour of happiness. This bright colour is such a lovely one to put on during the warmer months. Being spotted as one of the hottest colours from OPI's new Summer Collection, this one is going to be huge. The black/yellow floral dress has a gorgeous neckline. I feel yellow works really well with gold jewellery and as this dress is almost sleeveless, I felt the arms would feel bare without a bracelet. The shoes kept simply but effective the black heels and obviously another HUGE pop of colour with the bag - which I love!

3. Keep it Pure
Links to Items: 1, 2, 3, 4
White on White worked for winter and is set for the summer months too. I love the slight gold accent in this outfit on the belt. It would work well with the shorts, blazer and pure white top! The white shoes would make the outfit look like an overall dream.

4. TWO trends in One
Links to Items: 1, 2, 3, 4
The Wide-Leg Pants trends is a total new one. One which I am reluctant to try. However, it would work well with the geometric print top. Being it a navy colour with white detailing, I feel it works well with the white pants. To add a little more dimension to the outfit, the boxed black shoulder/hand bag seems like a perfect fit. To not draw attention away from the pants and geometric pattern, I paired the outfit with black flats.

I hope you enjoyed the 'from the catwalk to your wardrobe' edition of the Spring/Summer Fashions Trends and let me know what you think of the layout!

What's your favourite summer trend?

Valentines Day Outfits!

Hello!

February has fast approached us and that means the day of chocolate and flowers is fast approaching. That means you may have plans booked (or surprises coming up) which you want to dress nicely for, and you may not know what to wear - story of my life!

Anyway, I thought it'd be super fun to plan some outfits for various occasions - feel free to mix and match! Oh, and you will see that I've gone for the red theme… seeing it's for Valentines Day and all, I thought it's a nice touch! :)

1, 2, 3, 4
Going out for a movie is a typical thing to do. For this occasion, I love the girly heels and lace top paired with the edgier leather outfit and super comfortable leggings. If you're like me, then you love comfort with style and leggings are perfect - I basically live in them!

1, 2, 3, 4
A night at a lovely restaurant sounds perfect! Wearing a red dress with a patterned top area is different, lovely and elegant. To add an 'oomph' to the outfit, I paired a pearl and diamond decorated bracelet - with a dress like that, a statement necklace may clash, so a statement bracelet is the way to style it. I also love the simplicity of the coat which would look stunning with the heels as the detailing on them would stand out!
1, 2, 3, 4
Then there are those really casual plans, where you stay at home and watch a movie or whatever, so for that sweaters are perfect. I love this sweater which looks super warm and cosy, with the casual jeans and slight dressy Tory Burch flats. I also had to add this cute red and white polka dot phone case (I have a pink and white one!) which fits perfectly with the outfit.

Anyway, so I don't have any plans for Valentines Day! Maybe bake a batch of cookies or something? I was thinking of another post whereby you can see what to bake on Valentines Day, like themed cakes and things, how cute?! The post may be up next week, so stay tuned! I remember last year we had pancakes, nutella, strawberries and Haagan Dazs on V. Day and it was super fun!

Have you got any Valentines Day traditions or plans?!

What Your Hat Says About You

Hello!

This time of year brings out the hats: knit, beanie, dappy hats – you name it! So, at first glance what do these various types of hat represent?

1.  Fedora
This clean edge brown fedora straight away represents class. A sort of old English, 1900’s thought is brought to mind when this hat is seen. It can also bring about a bohemian vibe, depending on how you’re wearing it and what you’re wearing it with. With this hat a sense of priority and somewhat power is bought along – so if you want to seem fancy, go for a fedora!

Links on where to buy: http://tinyurl.com/nnud6gl

2.  Fur Hat
This particular style of hats reminds me of the Russians. Russians being in the colder climates would generally be more associated with Fur. This type of hat is actually called a “Traditional Cossack Hat” and was originally made from sheep skin – oh the luxury! This hat brings an atmosphere of high-fashion with it and cannot go wrong by pairing it with a knit jumper – just to add with the cosiness of the fur!

3. Beanies
This seems to be the go-to for the winter months for many people. It brings about a sense of comfort and what I call “sweatpants style” – and in this case a bit of hipster too. The beanies with words and slogans like “Swag”, “You can’t sit with us” and “Killin’ It” seem to be everywhere, oh and I’ve even seen one with “Gnarly” on it, which I’m not too fond of! Beanies are great for the can’t-be-bothered-to-do-my-hair kind of days or days when you’re just not having a GHD* no matter what you do or try!

So, yes, I agree that hat’s can amp up any style and make any outfit stand out, as well as providing good protection to your head (in some cases, anyway) but if you’re trying to portray a certain style, be careful on the hat you choose!

PS. Check out this post for this seasons Clothing Trends, lookbooks and outfit ideas!
