New Shoes, Vintage Clocks, Movies & a Life Tip | BERRYWEEKLY

Hello!

"having dreams of owning something close to Khloe Kardashians heavenly shoe collection"

They say summer passes by in a flash, and they couldn't be more right! I don't know if it's because of the idea that we have 'all the time in the world' to do whatever we want to do, or if it's because we choose to spend our days doing practically nothing but somehow, the clock is running on super speed. To cherish every moment, we tend to resort to our handy dandy camera phones to capture memories - and that's exactly what BerryWeekly is all about. So here are the memories of the week!

Desk/Home Office Inspiration!

Hello!

Thank Goodness It's Friday. I thought I'd post this so you might get some inspiration to do some DIY this weekend!

Well, productivity should be full blast right now. If you're a college student like I am, then this week may have been Mock Week/Month. I had quite a few Mocks this month, luckily I did some last month before Christmas break, so there weren't as many exams as there could have been! Anyway, that means we should be studying.

However, if the area in which you work is not sorted, or doesn't make you feel happy, then you're less likely to study/work well enough, believe it or not! I find that if the area that I am working in is a mess, my mind won't work straight.

Yet you might be the type of person that likes clutter? Lets be honest, we only REALLY say we like clutter when we cannot be bothered to tidy said clutter away!

1)

I like having a nice view from my desk too. It used to be facing a wall (see a picture in this post) but that got boring pretty quickly for me! This picture was actually taken in autumn when the sun was nice and golden throughout the day. Nowadays we tend to get overcast or fog hiding that beautiful sun!

These two desk areas are lovely. They're minimalistic, have very little clutter - which is the best way to go, and the colours are all very easy on the eye. I like the stationary and small decor pieces yet nothing overwhelming or anything to distract focus.

3)

This picture was taken at night so doesn't look as bright but I like to keep plants on my windowsill. I've heard looking at natural plants and greenery is great for your eyesight and makes you feel good.

Green being a colour connoting success, wealth and growth, it's perfect for the study. I mean when you see them grow over the days, it's really nice! Oh, and this is the type of plant that if you forget to water it for a couple of days, it won't die… just the type I need! haha! (species: Jade Plant)

Both of these desks are made out of glass which give a modern, clean vibe. I also have a glass on top of my desk and love it because I can jot notes with whiteboard pens which rub out (and can be colourful). Also, because I can slide papers and notes underneath the glass so it's visible yet there's no clutter.

I got mine from starglassuk.com which provided great customer service and delivered it to my door.
They also provide mirrors and frames - which is what I like about the first image - which adds another clean vibe to the room.
5)

Finally, creating a studious atmosphere with books and files may just make the room feel complete.

I hope you have gotten some inspiration for your desk to get that all important work done.

Oh, and starglassuk.com have offered a DISCOUNT code for YOU - enter BerryBloomXO at checkout to receive 20% off your glass/mirror or anything!

Weekly Roundup #8

Hello!
I hope you've had a great week and can now relax in the weekend, unless you're attending a late Halloween Party, which you may want some ideas for here.
Anyway, this week revolved a LOT around Halloween, so here's my roundup:

For the first time ever this year, I carved a pumpkin! I was determined to do one this year and I've got to say, I''m quite proud:

Also on the theme of Halloween, they're selling Halloween themes Orange boxes, I bought one, opened it and found STICKERS! Yes, I was as excited as a 6 year old, but IDC! Anyway, so I decorated some oranges and didn't end up eating theme - I mean, when there's chocolate involved, the fruits go out the window!

Finally I changed around my office and now this is the gorgeous view from my desk, which is where I'm writing this from now! It's muchhhhh better than the wall I was previously facing!

Oh and behind me is the canvas I hung up myself, and shown in this post.

Well, that's my roundup, so tell me: What did you do for Halloween?

BerryReads: Lauren Conrad Edition

Hello!

Hope you're well and rested, if you're not, maybe you should read. You may be thinking "Okay, what?"- well, I find that when I read before bed it puts me in a relaxed mood and I sleep better. That brings me onto why I really wanted to write this post about what I've been reading!

You may, or may not, know this about me but I LOVE reading. I always have been a reader from such a young age. I actually had a disney princess book with an attached mini projector which had pictures related to the stories in the book - it was pretty awesome: Disney Princesses, a pink projector with pictures AND reading: Heaven. So, since a young age I have been interested in reading, and although the genres I liked have changed over the years, the fact that I am obsessed with reading has not. I used to love reading mystery when I was about 11 years old and then once I hit the age of 13 I really liked girly, romantic books and haven't really changed since.

Image from HERE
Keeping with the girly theme, I love Lauren Conrad. Lauren Conrad is like my idol to me. I read her blog, look up to her for inspiration and if anybody asks who my celebrity role model is, I can say it's her - without a second thought. The thing with Lauren is that I can relate to her loads. She's girly, smart, creative and loves being healthy yet still indulges once in a while - like what I see myself as... basically, I want to be her! When I found she has written books I obviously had to put my 2 loves together and read it. I haven't read all of her books but recently picked up 'The Fame Game' to read during the summer and I really liked it.

The Fame Game is about these 4 girls who are in a reality show. It reveals the truth about reality TV and what it is like to be part of Hollywood - moreover, what it's like to try and climb the ladders of Hollywood, and the competitiveness to reach the top is revealed. What I really enjoyed about this book is that it really brings back the idea that all these celebrities are indeed Real People. They're just like you and me. They have their own families to do with, all coming from different backgrounds. They have their own troubles, fears and anxiety. They also have to work hard to get what they get, it doesn't just come to them, even if you're born in a famous family.
I did enjoy reading this book. I suggest you read it if you're looking for a light read with the story based in LA.

You may know that I am Obsessed with LA (mentioned in this post) and would love to live there one day, so reading this book just satisfied my dreams for the time being! haha! Following from reading 'The Fame Game' I bought the Lauren Conrad book 'Beauty'. It was either 'Beauty' or 'Style' - quite frankly I picked up 'Beauty' because it is newer and has better reviews, probably because LC was more experienced by the time she wrote 'Beauty' compared to when she was writing 'Style'. Actually, the main reason I bought it was because I was looking for a Coffee Table style book for my study to make it look nice! I haven't gotten round to reading it yet but am eager to do so!

Currently I am reading 'About a girl' by Lindsey Kelk and might write about it when I'm done! Maybe have a BerryBooks/BerryReads bookclub sort of thing where we can talk books!

What are you currently reading?

Keep blooming, berries!
