A Quote to Live By - Be Open | MOTIVATION

Hello!
"gets you on the right track again"

You know the quotes you find on Pinterest, and occasionally pop up on your Tumblr and Twitter feeds, well I think they're great. It's a way to bring you back down to Earth, reminds you of your morals and gets you on the right track again. Well, this is one that really gets me back down to Earth, reminds me of my morals, and helps to get me back on the right track again.

New TV Show, Summer Inspiration and a Quote | FRIDAY FAVES

Hello!

"The story line totally hits home in terms of my 'dreamer' self,"

Usually on a Friday you may see a BerryWeekly, and rarely a 'Friday Faves'. Why the change? Well, a BerryWeekly is usually written when the week has been somewhat interesting. With exams just around the corner, my week has been mostly sitting around, so not much to see there, really! However, LaurenConrad.com does the most beautiful Friday Faves posts, so I thought I'd share mine!

Favourite Summer Inspiration:

Looking at this makes me realise that summer is coming! As soon as exams are over, it'll be all about beautiful summer nights and fun-filled days!

Favourite TV Show:

A new show on my list - Once Upon a Time is one I've thought again and again about beginning to watch, but only now have I started - and I'm loving it! The story line totally hits home in terms of my 'dreamer' self, and better yet, it's available on Netflix!

Favourite Quote:

A total blogger thing to say, hey? ^

So, that's my favourites for the week! What has been your favourite? Oh, and do you watch Once upon a time? :)

Are You YOUR Best Average | QUOTE

Hello!

"be around people that make you happy, that have good morals and bring out the best in you!"

I can't remember exactly where I picked this quote up, but I did end up writing it down on the notes section of my phone with intentions of one day sharing it. That day has now come. It's a quote that makes you think:
a) who are the 5 people you hang around most with?
b) are they a good influence?

"are they a good influence?"

Although there may be pressure (especially in high school) to be with the 'popular' crowd, but really, there is no need. Just be around people that make you happy, that have good morals and bring out the best in you! You want to be the best 'average' you can be, so be around people who inspire you and you're on the way to greatness!

It may be easier said than done, but there are friends for everyone in this world, and you have the control to choose the ones right for you. So, don't bother spending time with those you don't enjoy being around, and have fun being happy!

To round that off: Happy Monday!

What is a quality you admire about your friends? Is it their kindness, humour or simply just because they're great people?!

Fight the Fear: Motivation Monday

Hello!

I was watching Esteé from EssieButton the other day and her words drew me in. More specifically, the quotes she was reciting, and her description of the overall vibe she got from the growingly-famous book Yes Please by Amy Poehler

I'm going to be honest, I wasn't expecting that particular video from EssieButton to be my favourite, yet it really drew me in. Not being one to watch SNL, I don't really know who Amy Poehler is (don't shoot me), yet don't think I didn't go straight ahead and follow her on YouTube! I love the way Esteé described her as being such a positive person, up for laughs and is all for the idea of living in the moment. Some of the quotes she recited really got to me, so I rewinded and wrote 3 down. Out of those three, this is the one that fits me most in this moment in time, so naturally, I wrote it out on the whiteboard, and how could I not share it with you?

The quote is meant to portray "everyone has fear". The fear that we think only ourselves feel is probably felt by everyone, yet those doing the things you want to do have overcome that fear and fought. Although it's hard to admit it, we can do anything, and the fear is not what should stop us. We're all scared, just go out there and face it.

I know it's much easier said that done, but, it might be easier done if we believe we're not the only ones faced with the problem, and we can overcome it.

I wish you all the best is whatever plans you have for yourself, and I know you can overcome that fear and do what's best for you. You're never going to be 'ready', you just have to do it.

Tell me, what's one time you were scared, but did something anyway? & How do you feel about it now?

*Well, in some scenarios this isn't the case, because you may not be scared... but you get the gist ;)

The end of Christmas 2014, Quotes & iPhones: BerryWeekly

Hello!

"Who would've thought such a small gesture would transform a room into something a lot more festive?"

That's it. This marks the end of Christmas. The 25th is gone by a day, the presents have been open and families are cherishing the moments they've had together. Not to mention, we're probably knackered from all that shopping we did today, right? Or were we tactic enough to do it online? Either way, we can pack up the decorations soon (okay, we'll allow it for another fortnight, shall we?) and reflect on this beautiful holiday we just had!

"Time to pack these beauties away"

My bedroom looked super festive this year. It wasn't because of the tinsel handing on my window, the wreath hanging or the festive printed candle holders. It was the draught excluder turned long pillow that was the centre of attention. Who would've thought such a small gesture would transform a room into something a lot more festive?

Oh, what is winter without candles? Also, what's a BerryWeekly without some candles, right? Time to pack these beauties away too... until next year, my friends ;)

"Don't be affected by the 'end-of-Christmas Blues' - we can get over that. "

As of this past week, I am a new owner of an iPhone 6. Not as big as people make it out to be, let me tell you! Now looking back at the 4S, it seems tiny! I can't believe how quickly you get used to the bigger screen! Nonetheless, the phone takes great photos and I love the Touch ID feature - seriously makes it so much easier to unlock your phone! Oh and the background is, of course, non other than winter inspired scenery at the moment! ;)

" the presents have been open and families are cherishing the moments they've had together."

Finally, a little quote to get you going. Don't be affected by the 'end-of-Christmas Blues' - we can get over that. All you need is a little enthusiasm (and the leftover Christmas dinner) to keep you going!

Hope you had a fab holiday, grabbed awesome stuff from the sales, spend quality time with family and look forward to the new year!

What's the thing you're going to miss/cherish about Christmas 2014?

When you Just Can't Do the Day: Motivation Monday

Hello!

"There are a million good things that may happen today"

You know that dreaded feeling every Sunday night. When you know you're going to have to suck it up tomorrow and commute to work in that crowded train surrounded by people snoring? Or going to school solving sums you'll never ever have to use in your lifetime, wishing you could be home or out having fun? Well, this post is for one of those days you really don't want to go.

source
"Pretend you have 100% battery"
Accept the thoughts. I don't want to go because I want to lie in my bed - the go-to excuse in my book. But think about it. The positives of going to work/school and the aftermath of being productive. Let's be honest, the so-called 'productive high' is pretty awesome. As they say, even it's undesirable in the short term it's worth it in the long run. If we didn't have Mon-Fri working days, would we be as excited for Sat/Sun?

source
"think about the potential benefits that could come your way"
You'd think we'd be refreshed after our relaxing weekend, right? Then comes morning and we're like 'I need to be recharged' or 'I need another weekend'. Well, for me, this works: Pretend you have 100% battery (okay, 78%?!) and you'll feel better! :D

source
"the so-called 'productive high' is pretty awesome"
Finally, even though you're dreading the day, think about the potential benefits that could come your way. There are a million good things that may happen today and you're not going to find out if you don't get up and get going... so move on and turn that 'I really don't want to go' to 'It could be a good day!'

So tell me, what get's you up and going?

Motivation Monday: Morning Thoughts

Hello!

"stay focused and look at the things around you."

Another Monday is upon us, and it's the first thing that pops into our heads on Monday Morning can determine the rest of the day... or rest of the morning, at least! It could either be: "Oh YAY, start of another fresh week" or "Let's just stay under the duvet for the next 50 hours?" Choose the latter and you're more likely to dread mornings!
"Be grateful and feel forever content."
This quote is simple yet always overlooked. Be grateful and feel forever content. It is so easy to miss the things right under our nose, like the quote 'You'll Only Miss it When it's Gone' - so just take a moment to think of the things you're lucky to have.

Is Roald Dahl EVER wrong?

It seems as though the images did all the talking in this post and that's how morning should be: productive yet quiet... :)

What's your favourite morning ritual?

Motivation Monday: Cherish the Days

Hello!

Happy Monday! I hope you're well and as happy as you can be no matter what stress you may have, or what burden may lay on your shoulders. As I mentioned in my last post, it's the stressful Exam Period for me and many others in the UK (do you have exams on too?), and I felt this post was much needed - to keep us grounded!

So with the title of the post, you would've released the theme of this post: Cherish The Days.
Well, with life I think we all come to a point where we realise how short our life is. Who knows what's going to happen tomorrow? Who knows how long we have?  (okay that sounds really serious and a bit sad, but lets be real!!)

Life will have good things in store, but I always tend to live in the future. It's nice to be seeing things more clearly the way it is now than wishing it was something else, or, like the quote: Waiting for something else. Lets cherish now!
As well as living in the future, you may find that you may live in the past too. We can't change what happened yesterday, let's cherish those moments and create new ones today! Its like the quote from Kung Fu Panda:

My driving instructor used to say this all the time and whenever I think about it, I remember how lucky we are for today - oh gosh, that does sound cheesy but it's so true!!

Well, although it may seem like life will start after the exams, after something happens but no, life is always going, so cherish the days!

Hope you have a lovely day and tell me: are you living in the past, future or the present?

BerryWeekly: Weddings, Lashes and Bill Gates!

Hello!!

I hope you're having a fab Friday (or weekend, or tuesday or whenever you're reading this!). If you're like me, all you hear and think about right now is EXAMS. For those of you in the UK, you'd know that although May is the season the sun pops out, it's also the time of year to stay in and STUDY.
Although, on the positive side: it'll be over before we know it!

Last weekend, I had a VERY important wedding to attend: the eldest of my first cousins got married! It was a super fun weekend and I want to do it again!! Anyway, considering I had dressed up for it and all, a selfie (or few) had to be taken, ovi*:

Secondly, the new mascara featured in this post is amazing!! I have been loving it and have received a few compliments so far! It's amazing!

Finally, a quote to keep you inspired, and possibly make you chuckle:

Well, that quote reminds me that exams are not everything - so stress less and be happy!

I hope you all had a fabulous week and tell me: any exam tips?

*ovi= obviously

Motivation Monday - Excitement is Good!

Hello!

Yet another Monday has arrived at our doorstep, but this Monday is different... It's Easter Bank Holiday Monday! Wooo! Okay, you may be thinking I am over exaggerating with how excited I am about this day, but that's kind of the point of this post...

As we grow older, somehow our brains seem to think that getting excited over the small stuff is very weird - or unacceptable. It makes us feel as though we're childish and immature. Honestly, though, the youth are said to be the best years of our life - so why purposely (or unconsciously) try to rid that happiness sooner than necessary?

Is it wrong to be excited about the smallest things? No. Would people think it's weird? Maybe. Well, you know that you can never make every single person in the world happy - so do it for the person that matters most in the world to you: YOU.

For the last couple of days, I have been happy for no particular reason, yet for almost every reason. Making the most of the situation. Admiring the beautiful things in life and just smiling.
The quote about is very true - there are so many beautiful reasons to be happy.

Okay, I understand that it is almost (I said ALMOST) impossible to Always be happy - yet the time we spend unhappy is time not well spent. Try and be happy, even when it feels impossible. Look at the things you love most. Make the most out of the things you have to do and hopefully you'll find something beautiful..

So, this Motivation Monday may seem a bit cliché, but I feel it's important to tell you to be happy. Even though you've read it in more than one other motivation monday - I still believe the overall goal in life is to be happy.

I hope you have a fabulous Bank Holiday Monday if you're in the UK, or just a Beautiful day anyway!

Tell me a beautiful thing you've seen today, maybe the look of your tea this morning, or the flowers in  the garden, or the look on your dogs face when you gave it some breakfast - what has been a beautiful thing you've seen today?

Motivation Monday: Live Life Now

Hello!

Happy Monday! I've got an extra special reason why this monday is a happy one - I'm home for the next 2 weeks! Yay! But that doesn't mean you can't be happy with your Monday, anyway! Everyday should be a happy day, right?! Thus leading onto the first part of the post...

Everyday should be a good day, just enjoy life! What's a life waiting for the next day to be a good one, when you can make today a good one! It's fun to be happy!

Adding to that, obviously there are things we cannot control. Maybe someone did something that made you feel down, or something happened you wish didn't. Guess What? We can't really change what happened. We can move on, make it better if we can, or just make now/today the best it can be!

Finally, I'll leave you today will a happy Giraffe! Because this Giraffe looks really happy, makes me happy and I hope you're happy! (I couldn't say happy one more time in that sentence, could I?! haha!)

What is your word of Happy Advice?!

*Images are not mine, I had them saved and do not know the source..

Motivation Monday: Quit Comparing Yourself

Hello!

The weekend has, once again, slipped away far too quickly! You know the saying 'You learn something new everyday'?! Well, this weekend I came to a realisation of something I had already known, something I am sure you already know, but I have just begun to experience the after-effects of this - hence it's the theme of this post…

We are constantly looking at others and comparing ourselves in relation to them.
Looking in that magazine and wishing had the same ____ as that model…
Looking at the person sitting near you on the  bus and wishing you had beautiful long legs like they do… or even:
Looking at the pictures posted on your FaceBook Timeline and wishing you were doing what they are doing in the place they are at…

What we don't tend to realise is what we have in front of us. How far you have come in wherever you are now. Things you have Accomplished. Achieved. Been Awarded. Goals met. Skills learnt. Knowledge. Ability to Laugh. Make Jokes. Smile. Places visited. Things Done. Opportunities taken advantage of. Things tried. Potential. Capabilities. Your Life.

No-one else will live the same life as you. You will not have the same life as someone else, so why compare? Why fit yourself in this tiny little box that other people seem to think "ideal" when you can make wherever you're at in your life ideal to you. Sure we all wish we had somethings about us that we want to change, but we have so much more to be grateful for.

1 // 2 // 3
Take a look at these images - they show a different approach at "Comparison". Comparing ourselves to others doesn't make one happy - if it does, it's very short-lived happiness. Keeping in mind that being happy by bringing someone else down is not fun. That someone else includes yourself.

I'm going to leave you with this ^ - possibly the cutest and truest picture ever! Love yourself and you'll be happy. With a big smile across your face, nothing else in the world matters - just Enjoy.

Tell me one thing YOU are grateful for?! Hope you have a fantastic week!

Motivation Monday - Smile

Hello!

Happy Monday! I hope you had a fantastic weekend, enjoying the beautiful weather if you are a Londoner like me - or anywhere that may have received a few kisses from the sun! Having really enjoyed my Sunday, I decided I shouldn't let the Monday Blues bring me down - and you shouldn't either! Whether you had a rough or smooth weekend, let this be another day to make wonderful memories

This quote by Dr Seuss is an eye opener in many ways and really warms my heart. Sometimes I find we seem to regret where we are now and prefer how it was like before. We say things like 'Oh, back in the good old days' - well, if you think about it, these days will be the 'good old days' in a couple of years time, so why not make the most of it NOW.

Don't cry because we aren't in those 'good old days' but smile because those good days existed. Smile that we have another chance to make it good for ourselves!

Wishing you all a positive day and tell me, what are POSITIVE sayings or quotes keeping you going?

Rhyming Life Lessons - from Dr Seuss!

Hello!

Being it Wednesday, mid-week, it may seem like your week is going on forever… or it might be going quite quickly yet anything to help you get to the weekend, right?!
Well, I found this and thought it was super cute:

Sometimes it's the simple, super obvious things we need to remember to get us through the week and bring us back to Earth.

I hope you enjoyed - which of these is your fav?

Motivation Monday: Be You

Hello!

Well, it's another Monday so time for another post. Actually, this post is based around something I saw on YouTube. Okay, we all hate those annoying adverts that appear before a video, yet sometimes don't they just reach out to you so you can't bring yourself to press the 'skip' button?! Well, this was one of those times…

The song is really good and the message even greater. You see people labelling other people all the time. It's like because they look or dress a certain way, they have to act that way. This is not the case and shouldn't be regarded as the case either. You can be whoever you want to be, no matter what other people think of you: Just Be You and don't let anyone else bring you down.

I thought this quote was appropriate, too:

So, let's end on a lighter note: Just be happy! :)

So, what do you think of the video? Wasn't it great?!

Weekly Roundup #10

Hello!

It's Friday again! What a relief! I feel like this week has really dragged out, yet can you believe it's the first Friday of February?! We're already in the second month of 2014!! Just stating the obvious here…

Anyway, so seeing as I had not done a single Weekly Roundup last month, I feel this is necessary. I miss showing you little bits of the week as every week should be cherished - you will never get another exactly like it!

Things I watched:

'The Fault in Our Stars' by John Green has been such a talked about book and soon-to-be-released film. I have yet to read the book yet you may have done so. The reviews of the book are all amazing and just watching the trailer has made me super excited about it! I like the storyline shown in the trailer - that everyone finds their happiness, and everyone deserves to be happy!

Next Movie to see:

This week I have heard so much about the movie Frozen. It is said to be a great feel-good Disney movie with great songs! haha! Maybe it's time to go back and watch a Disney film, why not?

Favourite Laugh:
source: 1, 2, 3, 4
I follow Barbara Palvin on Twitter - as I was scrolling through my News Feed these popped up. If you're on twitter then you might have realised the new(ish) layout whereby the images show up even if you don't click them. Well, when Barbara posted these, they caught my eye and I actually LOL-ed. It was a bit embarrassing as people around me must have thought I was crazy, but I just thought it was so funny! Barbara simply stunning, and she has a great sense of humour - what more could you ask for?! :O
Being it Valentines Day next week, I thought this was appropriate to share! haha! My favourite is the Kanye one as I love that song and remember when I went to Disney Land, Timone and Pumba sang it! It was a good time!

Okay, for some reason there is a lot of Disney in this week's post - which I find a little bit weird!
Anyway, I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

What's your memorable laugh this week?
